n’t see me anywhere in the United States, and if I have it my way, you won’t see me in 2009 either. It’s not because I don’t miss you… because I do miss you so much.But more than that, I want you to see and share in the amazing work of having the privilege of helping to transform the lives of people suffering in conditions of social, physical and spiritual poverty. If you could only know how taking the time to help someone in need truly makes a difference in that person's life, then you will know why I must continue to do what I'm doing here in Brasil.
My greatest joy and satisfaction of working everyday with young people who have at one point in their young lives survived for many years on the streets. To most, I'm "Tio Thabiti" (Uncle Thabiti), but to some I'm the daddy they never had. Learning and growing with these amazing young people has taught me so much about myself and how someone like me can make a difference in another person's life. - But don't make be mistaken... this has been the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. But also, the most rewarding.
